Senior soccer captain and keeper Rachel Elliot (Amherst, N.H.) has earned Goalkeeper of the Week honors from the Great Northeast Athletic Conference, the conference announced on Monday evening.

The honors follow a week in which Elliot earned two shutouts, denying both Suffolk and Mount Ida. Elliott faced 13 shots, 6 shots on goal, and recorded 5 saves to boost the Sharks to a 2-0 week.

"Rachel is a great leader and a dedicated athlete," said Head Coach Erica Mastrogiacomo. "Her ability to organize our backline with her big voice provides our team with the confidence we need for success. This past week she did an excellent job of coming off her line quickly to clear balls sent through our defenders. She has also contributed on our attack with great distribution."

Elliot and the Sharks will return to action on Wednesday, September 23 when they travel to Lasell for a 4:00pm GNAC game.
