BOSTON, MA - The Simmons Soccer team lost their first match of the season, 0-2, to Wentworth Institute of Technology. Both Wentworth goals were scored by Lucy Brown, a freshman midfielder from Plainville, CT.

Simmons, outshot in the first half 8-3, were able to adjust to the tempo of the game and add pressure in the second half, with a 9-4 shot advantage. The Sharks' Brittany Staszowski (Lenox, MA) had a near miss in an attempt to score in the second half, hitting the far post.

Head Coach Erica Mastrogiacomo knows her team is ready to adjust for tomorrow's match against Albertus Magnus. "The goal is to feed off today's energy in the second half, and let that confidence carry over to Sunday," said Mastrogiacomo. "We're going to work on our organized defense, as well as finishing opportunities to score."

Simmons is back in action tomorrow as it opens up Great Northeast Athletic Conference play at home against Albertus Magnus College at 2:00pm, at The Winsor School field.
