Amanda Maxwell (formerly Arpé) enters her fourth season as the Head Coach of the Simmons Field Hockey and Lacrosse programs. In 2013, Maxwell led the Sharks to the GNAC Championship game for the first time in program history, finishing the season, 10-4. Maxwell joined the Simmons Athletics staff after one year as the Assistant Lacrosse coach at Archbishop Williams High School, and one year as Head Coach of Field Hockey and Lacrosse at Mashpee High School. At Mashpee, Maxwell led the Field Hockey team to a 10-3-5 record and the first round of the South Division II tournament, and produced four South Shore All Stars. Maxwell coached the Lacrosse team to a 7-6 record, the first winning season in the program’s history.

Before coaching high school, Maxwell spent five years as the Assistant Field Hockey Coach at Stonehill College, helping the team to a 51-14 record in her final three seasons. While at Stonehill, Maxwell’s responsibilities included the planning of team practices, goalkeeper coaching responsibilities, game management, strength and conditioning and recruiting and scouting.

Maxwell has coached several camps and clinics in the northeast. She was the Assistant Director of Stonehill’s Ultimate Field Hockey Camp, and assisted at Springfield College’s YES Clinic and the East West Field Hockey Camps at Keene State.

Maxwell is a 2003 graduate of Hobart & William Smith Colleges where she earned her B.A. in American Studies. She was a four-year member of the varsity field hockey team that won the 2000 Division III National Championship.
