BRIGHTON, Mass. – Senior attacker Julia Chausse became the first player in program history to register 100 career assists as Simmons lacrosse defeated Regis College, 10-6, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Friday evening.

First-year Lauren Krupnikoff put the Sharks on the board first, scoring two minutes into the contest off a free position. Remaining in attack mode, Chausse notched her 100th career assist dishing the ball to sophomore Campbell Crane in front of the net to put Simmons up 2-0. The Pride answered 30 seconds later to cut the lead in half, but the Sharks continued hot offensively.

Midway through the period, Crane registered her second goal of the game, before Chausse tallied her second assist of the game, connecting with senior Cameron Richards. With less than a minute to play in the first quarter, junior Kat Wood found fellow classmate Maddie Desimio-Maloney to put the Sharks up 5-1.

At the start of the second period, Crane added an assist to her two goals finding Wood to increase the Simmons lead to five goals. Outscoring the Pride, 3-1, in the second period, Krupnikoff capped off the first half with another free position goal to take an 8-2 lead into the locker room.

When the teams returned the field at the start of the second half, Turriza pushed the Shark lead to seven, 9-2. But the Pride began to mount a mini comeback, rattling off four unanswered goal to pull within three, 9-6, midway through the fourth quarter. However, with less than two minutes remaining in the game, Crane squashed the threat and scored her third goal of the game.
