Lacrosse Secures Third Seed in GNAC Postseason Tournament; Hosts No. 6 Dean on Friday

WINTHROP, Mass. – Finishing the season with their second-best record in program history, Simmons lacrosse (13-4, 11-2 GNAC) earned the third seed in the 2023 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) postseason tournament announced Thursday morning.

The Sharks will host the sixth seed Dean College Bulldogs on Friday evening April 28 at 7 p.m. at Daly Field. In their first meeting between the two teams, the Sharks came out with a convincing 23-3 victory behind a five-goal performance by graduate senior Abby Stoller. Seven different players scored at least two goals in the first meeting.

 Johnson & Wales University (13-2, 13-2 GNAC), who finished the season with an unblemished conference mark, claimed the top spot and will host the eighth-seed Elms College on Saturday, April 29. Defending champion Saint Joseph's College of Maine (14-3, 12-1 GNAC) secured the two-seed and will host Colby-Sawyer (10-7, 8-5 GNAC) on Saturday afternoon.
