Lacrosse Tabbed Second In GNAC Preseason Poll

WINTHROP, Mass. – Coming of a program-best 16-3 overall mark in 2022, Simmons lacrosse was selected to finish second in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Pre-season Coaches Poll announced Monday afternoon.

Simmons received a total of 176 points, including one first place vote. Johnson & Wales was picked third with 174 points and one first place vote. Defending 2022 champion Saint Joseph's College of Maine was slated to finish atop the standings once again with 193 points and 12 votes for first place.

The Sharks will host the Monks this season on April 19 at 7 p.m. at Daly Field. Late in the season, they will look to atone for last season's semifinal loss against the Wildcats, traveling to Providence, Rhode Island on April 26 at 7 p.m.

Simmons opens the season on March 1 on the road in Cambridge, Massachusetts against powerhouse MIT at 5 p.m.
