BRIGHTON, Mass. – Simmons lacrosse (13-2, 10-1 GNAC) won its eighth straight game following a 19-3 victory over Albertus Magnus College in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action, Saturday afternoon.

Within the first five minutes, sophomore midfielder Marita Nothacker opened the game with an unassisted goal and ignited a 4-0 run. Shortly after, senior midfielder Lilly Devitt connected with first year attacker Kat Wood to score her first of three goals for the game. Graduate senior Abby Stoller scored back-to-back goals, including a successful free position. The Falcons were able to score a pair nearing the end of the quarter to cut the deficit in half, but Devitt capitalized on a free position shot to put the Sharks back on top by three.

Albertus Magnus' Emmalee Ianniello brought the Falcons back within two scores a minute into the second period, but the Sharks answered. Devitt fed the ball to Wood to spark a 7-0 run. Nothacker took advantage of another free position opportunity, scoring her second goal of the game. Fifteen seconds later, Stoller won herself the draw control and scored off a fast break. A minute later, from behind the net, sophomore attacker Julia Chausse fed Stoller for her second straight goal and take a 9-3 lead. Moments later, Stoller won another draw control and went straight to net, to push the score to 10-3. Three minutes later, Chausse found Wood around the crease for her third goal of the game, before Stoller ended the half with a last minute free-position goal.

When the teams resumed play at the start of the second half, the Sharks kept their foot on the accelerator. Nothacker connected with Devitt to begin the third quarter, before scoring herself two minutes later to a 14-3 lead. First year attacker Maddie Desimio-Maloney scored her first goal of the game off a feed from junior Emi Boedeker. To finish the third quarter, sophomore attacker Cameron Richards found the back of the net in the last thirty seconds to put Simmons in front, 16-3.

In the final quarter, Desimio-Maloney scored back-to-back goals midway through the period for her first career hat-trick and give the Sharks an 18-3 advantage. Fellow first-year Layla Drinkwater concluded the game, scoring her second career goal with 14 seconds left to seal the victory.
