NEWTON, Mass. – Graduate senior Abby Stoller and sophomore Julia Chausse combined for eight goals as Simmons lacrosse (6-2, 3-1 GNAC) snapped a three-game losing streak with a 15-7 victory over Lasell University (2-4, 2-2 GNAC) in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action, Saturday afternoon.

Chausse and junior Sammi Hogan set the tone in the first quarter, scoring back-to-back goals to open the scoring for the Sharks. Stoller scored twice to push the lead to four, before Chausse connected with junior Lauren Whitman with 41 seconds remaining in the period to increase their lead to 5-0. Right before the end of the quarter, Stoller buried her third goal of the game with 33 seconds to give Simmons as six goal advantage.

The second quarter began the same way the first quarter ended, with an unassisted goal from Stoller 16 seconds in. Simmons scored two quick goals before Lasell notched their first tally of the game. Both teams exchanged goals in the third quarter, before Lasell opened the final period with three straight goals to cut the deficit to seven, 13-6, for the first time since the beginning of the second half.
