Boedeker Named GNAC Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week

Simmons University Lacrosse player Emily Boedeker Class of 2023

WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons University's Emily Boedeker (Portland, Maine) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week for the week of February 24 to March 1, it was announced today by the league.

Boedeker earns the honor following the Sharks' only match of the week in their season opener. The first year scored four goals in as many shots to contribute to a 14-7 victory over host Salve Regina University on February 29. The rookie's goal total was the highest output of any player in school history in their collegiate debut for Simmons. The Waynflete School product tallied two of her goals in the opening half to help the Sharks build a crucial 6-2 advantage at the intermission and found the back of the net to open the second stanza to keep the momentum going for Simmons.

The Nursing major currently ranks seventh among conference leaders in goals with four and leads all league first years. She is the only player in the GNAC to own a perfect 100% shooting percentage with at least four goals scored.

The Sharks return to action on Monday, March 2 when they open their home slate vs. University of Massachusetts Dartmouth at 5:00 p.m. on Daly Field.
