Rogers Named GNAC Women's Lacrosse Goalie of the Week

WINTHROP, Mass. ? Simmons College women?s lacrosse player Kenzie Rogers (Bourne, Mass.) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women?s Lacrosse Goalie of the Week for the week of February 29 to March 6, it was announced today by the league.

WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons College women's lacrosse player Kenzie Rogers (Bourne, Mass.) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse Goalie of the Week for the week of February 29 to March 6, it was announced today by the league. 

In her first collegiate match, Rogers was outstanding posting a 66.7% save percentage, while owning a 5.00 goals against average. The Falmouth Academy product stopped 10 shots in a 7-5 victory over Manhattanville College on March 5 in Boston, Mass. The rookie also picked up a pair of ground balls and caused two turnovers for the Sharks in their only game of the week. 

Roger currently leads the GNAC in goals against average (5.00) and save percentage (66.7%) in 60 minutes of action. Her save mark ranks her 10th in the nation, while standing 18th among Division III goalies in GAA.

Simmons owns a 1-0 record on the season and will be in action again on Tuesday, March 8 when it travels to Henniker, N.H. to play New England College at 4:00 p.m.
