Derosier Named GNAC Women's Lacrosse Goalie of the Week

WINTHROP, Mass. ? Simmons College?s Crystal Derosier (Kingston, Mass.) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women?s Lacrosse Goalie of the Week for the week of March 29 to April 5, it was announced today by the league.

WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons College's Crystal Derosier (Kingston, Mass.) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse Goalie of the Week for the week of March 29 to April 5, it was announced today by the league. 

The senior posted a 14.00 goals against average and registered a 34.9% save percentage, while stopping 15 shots in 120 minutes of action. A graduate of Silver Lake Regional High School, Derosier stepped up to turn away six shots to help the Sharks come home with a 20-10 victory at Rivier University on April 1. The netminder made nine saves in an 18-13 loss to Emmanuel College on April 4 to close out the week. 

Derosier owns a 39.4% save percentage for the season, while posting a13.40 goals against mark. She has started all 10 matches for Simmons and played all 600 minutes. The Captain has turned away 87 shots on the season to rank fifth among conference leaders, while placing second in minutes played. 

Derosier has started 35 of 45 matches in her tenure with the Sharks and has played every second of every game over the past two seasons. She owns a career 11.21 GAA, while posting a 45.4% save percentage. The goalie has compiled a 20-17 win-loss record to go with 356 lifetime saves. 

Simmons is currently 4-6 overall, including 2-3 in GNAC play and will be in action again on Wednesday, April 8 when it heads to Providence, R.I. to take on Johnson & Wales University in a league match-up at 7:00 p.m.
