Lacrosse Names Derosier, Malone Oliver, Oliveri Tri-Captains for 2015

BOSTON, Mass. - The Simmons College women's lacrosse team named Crystal Derosier (Kingston, Mass.), Alexia Malone Oliver (Bristol, R.I.) and Stephanie Oliveri (Waltham, Mass.) as its Tri-Captains for the 2015 season, it was announced by Head Coach Cassandra Haase.

BOSTON, Mass. - The Simmons College women's lacrosse team named Crystal Derosier (Kingston, Mass.), Alexia Malone Oliver (Bristol, R.I.) and Stephanie Oliveri (Waltham, Mass.) as its Tri-Captains for the 2015 season, it was announced by Head Coach Cassandra Haase.

Derosier played every second of every match last season, logging a school-record 846:56 minutes in the net, while owning a .481 save percentage, which ranked third among Great Northeast Athletic Conference goalies. The senior posted a 10.70 goals against average to place fifth among league leaders as well. A graduate of Silver Lake High School, the Sharks starting goaltender rung up double-digit save totals on seven occasions for a total of 140 in 14 matches. Derosier began the season with a career-best 21 saves in a 15-11 victory over Regis College on March 1 of last year. She has never had a save percentage lower than .469 in any of her three seasons with Simmons and boasts a .477 career mark to go with a lifetime 10.43 goals against mark. She's started 25 of 35 career outings over 1696:33 minutes of action, while recording a 15-12 win-loss record.

The only junior among the trio, Malone Oliver tallied 22 points on 20 goals and two assists to rank fourth on the team in points and goals in 2014. The midfielder proved to be one of the most versatile players on the squad last year, contributing on both sides of the field with 31 ground balls to lead all Sharks in the midfield and 13 caused turnovers. The Saint Mary Academy - Bay View product also corralled 25 draw controls and converted five free position strikes. She ranked second on the team with a 54.1 shooting percentage among players with 10 or more goals, while starting all 14 matches. The middie also racked up four multiple-goal efforts, including a career-high four markers at Lasell College on March 29. Malone Oliver has 26 points, including 22 goals in 22 career matches.

Oliveri's field vision and awareness contributed to her being Simmons best distributor last year, doling out 22 assists to rank eighth in the GNAC and lead to her All-GNAC First Team selection. The senior also found the back of the net 38 times for a total of 60 points. The attacker made the most of her chances, scoring 55.9% of the time to lead the Sharks and place fourth among conference leaders with 20 or more goals scored. The Waltham High School graduate also picked up 24 ground balls and struck for five free position goals in 14 starts for Simmons. Oliveri proved to be one of the most dependable scorers on the squad, notching at least one score in all but one match, including the first seven to open the season. She also racked up two or more points in 13 of 14 contest, including a career-high seven on five goals and two assists at Lasell. Oliveri has increased her scoring numbers in each of her three campaigns and owns 153 career points, while sitting just seven goals shy of the century mark during her 44-match tenure with the Sharks.
