BOSTON, Mass. -- This Saturday, when Simmons Lacrosse takes the field against Saint Joseph's College of Maine, they will not be sporting their usual navy and yellow warm ups. Instead, the players will be wearing black shirts in support of skin cancer as Simmons Athletics teams up with the American Cancer Society and the organization Coaches vs. Cancer in an effort to raise money for skin cancer research.

Coaches vs. Cancer started as a nationwide collaboration between the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) and has since grown to all sports. The organization is dedicated to empowering coaches, their teams, and local communities to join in the fight against cancer and have helped raise more than $87 million dollars for the American Cancer Society.

This Saturday, Simmons Lacrosse will be hosting a 50/50 raffle, with the grand prize of a Chili's Restaurant gift card, as well as selling concessions during the game.
