Sharks Row to 27th Place at Head of the Charles

BOSTON, Mass. -- On the first day of the 49th annual Head of the Charles Regatta, Simmons Crew Collegiate Four entry of Emme Rosenberg (Pittsburgh, Pa.), Olivia Kritzman (Stafford Springs, Conn.), Taylor Nealand (Francestown, N.H.), Sophie Stone (Greenland, N.H.), and Andrea Breen (Amherst, Mass.) finished in 27th place

BOSTON, Mass. -- On the first day of the 49th annual Head of the Charles Regatta, Simmons Crew Collegiate Four entry of Emme Rosenberg (Pittsburgh, Pa.), Olivia Kritzman (Stafford Springs, Conn.), Taylor Nealand (Francestown, N.H.), Sophie Stone (Greenland, N.H.), and Andrea Breen (Amherst, Mass.) finished in 27th place, while the Simmons Alumnae Eight rowed to a 30th place finish. Nicole Gallant '10, Amanda DeRosa '11, Katherine McCombs '93, Kimberly Locke '93, Rebecca Brown '12, Cindy Reynolds '13, Julianne Davis '10, Laura Jungreis '13, Kristina (Vulgaris) Levasseur '08 made up the crew for the Alumnae boat.

The Head of the Charles is the world's largest two-day rowing event will feature more than 9,000 athletes from 23 different countries, and over 300,000 spectators are expected to watch the athletes navigate the course in 55 different events.

*Head Coach Nik Kurmakov will also compete with Team Attager in the Men's Senior Master Eight (10:17am)
*Malyka Ianni '04 will stroke the Pocock entry in the Women's Club Eight on Saturday (2:20pm)
*Amanda Milad '11 will cox Riverside Boat Club in the Men's Master Eight on Saturday (3:09pm)

Friends and fans can cheer on the Sharks from anywhere on the banks of the Charles River, or from Simmons Crew's home at Riverside Boat Club at 769 Memorial Drive.
