MANAHAWKIN, N.J. – Junior Sydney Gonyea was one of 136 student-athletes from 55 NCAA Division III institutions to be named to the 2023 NFHCA Watchlist released Thursday afternoon.

The list is intended to showcase those field hockey student-athletes with the strongest potential for considerations to current year's NFHCA All-American teams. To be nominated for the 2023 NFHCA Watchlist, student-athletes must have been previously recognized, regionally or nationally, for their outstanding field hockey abilities within the past two years and their head coach must be an active NFHCA member.

Following a career year last season, Gonyea became just the second player in program history to be named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Offensive Player of the Year Leading the GNAC in goals (27) and points (70), the New Hampshire native was amongst the top five in all offensive categories in Division III. Additionally, Gonyea is one of two GNAC student-athletes to be featured on the NFHCA Watchlist.
