Gonyea Earns GNAC Co-Player of the Week Accolades

WINTHROP, Mass. – Sophomore forward Sydney Gonyea was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Co-Player of the Week announced by the league, Monday afternoon. 

Gonyea led Simmons to a 2-0 week, registering game-winning goals in back-to-back shutouts against the University of St. Joseph (Conn.) and Lasell University. Early the week against USJ, she registered her third hat-trick of the season, tallying three goals - including the game-winner - and two assists for a career single-game best eight points. Gonyea closed out the week recording her seventh multi-goal game of the season, registering two goals - including the game-winner - and an assist for five points. She currently sits atop the GNAC in goals (20) and points (52). 

Simmons returns to the field on Saturday, October 22 when they travel to Weston, Massachusetts for a GNAC tilt against Regis College at 2 p.m.
