Desharnais, Elko, Gonyea Recognized as NFHCA Division III Scholars of Distinction

NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad

BROCKPORT, N.Y. – Senior Brianna Desharnais and first-years Emilia Elko and Sydney Gonyea were amongst over 500 student-athletes recognized as National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III Scholars of Distinction announced Thursday morning.

The Scholars of Distinction program recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.9 or higher through the first semester of the 2021-22 academic year.  

Desharnais, Elko and Gonyea also were named to the 2021 NFHCA Division IIII National Academic Squad last week, and four-time selection for Desharnais, but a first for the pair of first-years Elko and Gonyea. 

The NFHCA National Academic Team will be announced next week on February 21 and the National Scholar-Athlete on February 23.
