Trull Named GNAC Field Hockey Rookie of the Week

BOSTON, Mass. ? Simmons College?s Olivia Trull (Lowell, Mass.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Field Hockey Rookie of the Week for the week of September 12-18, it was announced today by the league. 

WINTRHOP, Mass. ? Simmons College?s Olivia Trull (Lowell, Mass.) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week for the week of September 26 to October 2, it was announced today by the league. It?s the second time that Trull has earned the honor this season, having been tabbed following the week of September 12-18 as well. She is the only player in the conference to earn the accolade multiple times this season.

BOSTON, Mass. – Simmons College's Olivia Trull (Lowell, Mass.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Field Hockey Rookie of the Week for the week of September 12-18, it was announced today by the league. 

The first year tallied a pair of goals in two matches for the Sharks. The forward registered her first career multi-goal outing when she scored two markers, including the game-winner, on three shots in an 8-2 victory over Wheelock College on September 13. 

A graduate of Lowell High School, Trull has started five of six matches for the season and ranks fourth on the team with six points on three goals. She owns a .333 shooting percentage to lead all players with three or more goals for Simmons. The rookie has been among the best offensive players in the league as well, standing seventh in goals and 12th in points, while ranking second among all newcomers in the conference in goals and points. She tallied her first collegiate goal in a 2-1 victory over Thomas College on September 10. 

Simmons has won four straight matches and owns a 4-2 record, including 1-0 in GNAC play. The Sharks return to action on Tuesday, September 20 when it travels to Norton, Mass. to take on Wheaton College in a 7:00 p.m. match.
