BOSTON, Mass. -- Simmons Field Hockey finished in a three-way tie for third as the North Atlantic Conference regular season came to a close this afternoon, marking the programs highest finish since 2005. The Sharks (12-7, 6-3) were announced as the #5 seed in the upcoming tournament, which begins on Saturday, Nov. 2.
#1 Castleton will play host to New England College, the eighth seed. St. Joseph's College (Me.) finished the regular season 13-2, 7-2 and will take the second seed into Saturday's quarterfinal versus number-seven Lasell (10-9, 4-5). Third-seeded Husson (9-7, 6-3) will host sixth-seeded Thomas, while number-four UMaine-Farmington (7-6, 6-3) will welcome the fifth seed, Simmons (12-7, 6-3).
Quarterfinal round games will be played on Saturday, November 2 at the higher seed. Winners will advance to the semifinal round held at the higher seed on Wednesday, November 6. Semifinal winners will meet Saturday, November 9 at the highest remaining seed.
Game times and dates are subject to change. The NAC Champion receives an automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Championship.
