Simmons Falls to Framingham State, 3-0

Framingham State?s Kali Barrett scored two goals and Kristen Sacco added another to lead the Rams field hockey team to a 3-0 non-conference win over Simmons on Thursday evening.  Simmons falls to 3-9 on the season, while Framingham State improves to 6-4.

Framingham State's Kali Barrett scored two goals and Kristen Sacco added another to lead the Rams field hockey team to a 3-0 non-conference win over Simmons on Thursday evening.  Simmons falls to 3-9 on the season, while Framingham State improves to 6-4.    

Barrett scored what would be the game-winning goal for the Rams twenty-two minutes into the first half when she placed a shot past Simmons goalkeeper Jen Szkolt (Bondsville, Mass.).

Five minutes later Kristen Sacco took advantage of a defensive breakdown by the Sharks, and gave the Rams a 2-0 lead.  Barrett then added an insurance goal with thirteen minutes left in regulation, Cailyn Morgan was credited with the assist.   

Junior goalkeeper Jen Szkolt made five saves for Simmons, while Framingham State's Stephanie Bourgeois had three stops in her shutout effort for the Rams.

The Sharks return to action on Saturday, October 11 when they host North Atlantic Conference foe Castleton State at 1:00 pm at the Winsor School Field.
