Quinlan, Lowry Grab GNAC Swimmer and Rookie of the Week Accolades

WINTHROP, Mass. – Senior captain Katelyn Quinlan and first-year Kenzie Lowry garnered Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Swimmer and Rookie of the Week accolades announced by the league on Monday afternoon.

The duo helped guide the Sharks to a sweep of Saturday's GNAC quad dual meet with Regis College, Elms College and Colby-Sawyer College.

Securing Swimmer of the Week honors for the first time this season, Quinlan earned two fo the Sharks eight first place wins. The Haverhill, Massachusetts native secured the top spot in the 500-yard free, touching the wall with a time of 5:41.02. Quinlan earned her second win of the day in the 100 IM, nearly eclipsing her previous personal-best, clocking at time of 1:08.45.

Lowry earned her third Rookie of the Week nod of the season with a first-place finish in the 50-yard breaststroke with time of 36.24. Lowry secured third place in the 100-yard free with a time of 59.77 before helping the Sharks to first place finish in the 200 free relay to seal the day.

Simmons returns to the pool on Saturday, January 20 with the two-day Seven Sisters Invitational.
