WINTHROP, Mass. – First-year swimmer Carli Quinlan garnered Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week honors for the second straight week announced by the league Monday evening.

Quinlan posted a pair of first place finishes in the 50- and 100-yard freestyles in the Simmons' lone non-conference dual meet against Smith College on Saturday afternoon. In the 50-yard free, she edged out Smith's Caroline Kolmodin for first, touching the wall with a time of 25.88. One event later, Quinlan created enough separation from Kolmodin in the 100-yard freestyle to finish with a season-best time of 55:92.  

Simmons returns to the pool this Friday when hosting non-conference Wellesley College for a dual meet at 7 p.m. at the Holmes Sports Center.
