WINTHROP, Mass. – Senior Lauren Howard has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Swimmer of the Week announced Monday afternoon.
Howard qualified for the B finals in the 100-yard freestyle at the MIT Invitational, that featured four nationally-ranked swimming programs. In the B finals on Sunday evening, Howard touched the wall with a season-best time of 54.31 – clipping two seconds from her previous best against Merrimack (56.00) the week before Thanksgiving.
Additionally, Howard posted a season-best time in the 50-yard freestyle on Saturday, finishing fourth in the C-finals with a time of 25.38 – a tenth of a second faster than her previous best this season.
Simmons returns to the pool after the winter break, hosting Regis College and Colby-Sawyer College in a three-team dual meet on Jan. 8 at noon.
