20 from Swimming & Diving Named to 2019-20 NEISDA Fall All-Academic Team

2019-20 Simmons University Swimming & Diving NEISDA Fall All-Academic Recipients

WESTON, Mass. -- The Simmons University women's swimming & diving team boasted 20 student-athletes being named to the 2019-20 New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association Fall All-Academic Team, it was announced by NEISDA.

The Fall All-Academic Team is comprised of swimmers and divers from 21 member teams, who have earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or better in the respective semester, regardless of school year, and be a team member in good standing for the season.

Since the All NEISDA Academic Team's inception in 2016, the Sharks' total number of honorees has been the highest of any member institution in each of the last five years. Simmons Swimming & Diving was led by four student-athletes with a perfect 4.0 GPA.

The following competitors were named to the squad for the Sharks. Seniors Alex Berg-Pappert (Geneva, N.Y.), Áine Scholand (Albuquerque, N.M.) and Devon Tice (Framingham, Mass.) were all tabbed for the third straight year as were juniors Anna Leedham (Lowell, Mass.)Sara Manjikian (Belmont, Mass.) and Olivia Walz (Natick, Mass.).  Seniors Laura List (Bedford, Mass.) and Haley McCurdy (Framingham, Mass.) were tapped for the second time in their respective careers and were joined as repeat honorees by junior Annie Lam (Natick, Mass.) and sophomore Sarah Singleton (Mission Hills, Calif.). Senior Amanda Marie Walsh (Newtown, Conn.), junior Vivien Littlejohn (Cohasset, Mass.), sophomores Lauren Howard (Abington, Mass.) and Natalie Krieg (Cambridge, Mass.) and first years Kimmy Colbert (Carlisle, Mass.), Elizabeth Dion (Westfield, Mass.), Lauren Kenney (West Springfield, Mass.)Eva Piernas (Hopkinton, N.H.), Katelyn Quinlan (Haverhill, Mass.) and Sophie Stevenson (Orefield, Pa.) were all recognized for the first time. 

Simmons is currently 5-5 on the season and will compete in its final dual meet of the season on Saturday, January 25 at Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Mass. at 12:00 p.m. In addition, the team will defend its Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship in addition to its New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association crown over the next five weeks.
