Swimming & Diving Receives NEISDA Team Sportsmanship Award

BOSTON, Mass. - The Simmons College women's swimming & diving team received the New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association's Steve Looke Women's Sportsmanship Award, it was announced by NEISDA today.

BOSTON, Mass. - The Simmons College women's swimming & diving team received the New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association's Steve Looke Women's Sportsmanship Award, it was announced by NEISDA today. 

The Sharks earned the honor for the second time in school history after being named following the 2011 NEISDA Championships as well.

Simmons finished third in the team scoring for the second straight year with 725 points, trailing top scoring Keene State College (1211.5 points) and Roger Williams University (998.5 points).

The Sharks closed out their dual-meet results this season by winning five straight for a 10-2 record to tie the school standard for victories in a campaign. They won their 11th straight GNAC Championship earlier in the season. Simmons will return to action on Friday, February 27 when it sends six swimmers to Pittsburgh, Pa. to compete in five individual races and four relay events at the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships hosted by University of Pittsburgh.
