Simmons Soccer is pleased to announce the first annual Shark Shootout, to take place at halftime during Saturday's home game vs. Lasell College. The Shark Shootout will feature the Blast, a local under-14 girls soccer team from Jamaica Plain, Mass.

The Blast will show off their shooting skills as they take on the Simmons Shark in the net at halftime.

"We have established great working relationship with the Jamaica Plain Youth Soccer league," said Head Coach Erica Mastrogiacomo. "In the past, we've donated soccer clinics, and afterwards they invite the Simmons staff and athletes to have pizza in JP, and have Q&A time with the athletes. It's a great peer mentorship between the Simmons athletes and the Blast, and I know my team is excited to have them to attend our conference match on Saturday."

Simmons Soccer has been mentoring the Blast under-14 team for three seasons, ever since Mastrogiacomo took the position of Head Coach of the Sharks.

The Sharks will face off against Lasell on Saturday at 1:00pm on The Winsor School field, adjacent to the Simmons College Sports Center.
