    CHANDLER, Ariz. - Simmons College field hockey players Jillian Mercer (Dartmouth, Mass.) and Julie Kellndorfer (Amherst, N.H.) were named 2014 Gladiator by SGI/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III Scholars of Distinction honorees, it was announced by the NFHCA today.

    WINCHESTER, Mass. – Simmons College Head Field Hockey Coach Amanda Maxwell was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Coach of the Year, while Julie Saltamartini (East Hampstead, N.H.) was selected the GNAC Rookie of the Year and was chosen for the GNAC First Team along with Kelly Williamson (Natick, Mass.), Amy Wilson (Falmouth, Mass.), Avery Hines (Newburyport, Mass.) and Brianna Rastello (Salem, N.H.). Williamson was also selected for the All-Sportsmanship Team, it was announced by the league today. This year marked the inaugural season that the GNAC sponsored field hockey.

    WINCHESTER, Mass. – Simmons College field hockey player Brianna Rastello (Salem, N.H.) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Field Hockey Goalkeeper of the Week, it was announced today by the league. The award marks the sixth time this season that she has won the accolade to top the league. She was also honored for the weeks of August 25-31, September 8-14, September 15-21, September 22-28 and October 20-26.

The Sharks win their seventh straight match to improve to 11-4 overall and a perfect 5-0 in league play, while the Raiders fall to 5-11 and 1-5.

The honor marks a league-high fourth time that she has won the award. She was also named the GNAC’s top rookie last week as well as for the weeks of September 1-7 and September 8-14.
