Five Members of Simmons Rowing Selected to NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Team

WESTWOOD, Mass. – Five members of the Simmons rowing team were amongst the 120 student-athletes named to the 2022 New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference Academic All-Conference team announced Thursday morning.

Seniors Maude Elovitz, Steffi Gaehde, Rachel Matz and Maggie O'Byrne along with junior Samantha Merrow earned NEWMAC Academic All-Conference recognition.

To be selected to the academic all-conference squad, student-athletes must meet the following criteria: earn a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale or 4.35 on a 5.0 scale after the fall 2021 semester, achieve second year academic status at their institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.
