Cross Country Tabbed Fifth In GNAC Pre-Championship Coaches Poll

WINTHROP, Mass. – After finishing second in last year's Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship Meet, Simmons cross country was tabbed to finish fifth this season announced by the conference on Thursday.

The Sharks received a total of 67 points, just behind neighboring rivals Emmanuel College – who received 89 points. This season Sharks runners have shown steady improvement on the cross country course, led by juniors Sarah Giuliano and Molly Guinivan

Defending champion Colby-Sawyer College was picked to finish first once again with 118 points, including eight first place votes. Regis College was tabbed second with 103 points, while Norwich University was slated third with 93 points and three votes for first.

Simmons will compete for a GNAC title this Saturday, October 29 up at Saint Joseph's College of Maine at 1 p.m.
