Amy Thompson will enter her first season as an assistant soccer coach under Head Coach Ann Marie Jaworski in the fall of 2024.

Thompson arrives at Simmons after spending the past year as a strength and conditioning graduate assistant at nearby Boston University. In her role with the Terriers, she works with multiple teams in designing weightlifting programs for student-athletes, while also directing exercise and lifting sessions.  

A former collegiate player herself, Thompson completed an outstanding Division I career at Boston University. Appearing in 34 games and starting in 23 over two seasons with the Terriers, she notched eight goals and two assists for 18 points, while capturing a pair of All-Patriot League honors twice. 

In the fall of 2022, Thompson was elected captain by her teammates and went on to start in all 20 games for the Terriers to guide them to the Patriot League Semifinals. At the end of the season, she was named to the All-Patriot League First Team, while also being invited to the NEWISA Division I Senior Bowl. Off the pitch, Thompson also exceled in the classroom, earning College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team recognition in 2022.

Away from soccer, Thompson spent a semester working as an administrative intern with the Boston University Athletic Department. Working closely with the associate athletic director, she helped develop mental health initiatives for student-athletes as she learned the day-to-day operations of a Division I collegiate athletic department. Thompson took this experience into full-time social media coordinator position with the 37 Media and Marketing Group after graduating in December of 2022.
