BRIGHTON, Mass. – Simmons soccer (0-2) fell to Lesley University (2-0) in non-conference action as they opened up their home schedule on Sunday morning.

The Lynx were quick to strike first, scoring within the first few seconds of the game when Chase Livesay connected with Haile Carrillo-Hayes to put Lesley onto 1-0. But the Sharks hung tough and began to pressure the Lesley defense. Moving the ball upfield, senior Riley Wasiuk nearly scored the equalizer seconds but it escaped wide left.

Lesley increased its lead to two in seven-minute mark when Livesay added a goal to her previous assist. However, Simmons was threatening to cut the deficit in half moments later. Sophomore Kayla Noonan ripped a shot that went wide right of the goal. Midway through the period, the Lynx added third goal to take a 3-0 lead into halftime.

When the teams returned to the pitch, the Lynx were not going to let up, adding another two goals in the period. Sophomore goalkeeper Julia Rodgers limited the damage coming up with four big saves after beginning the second half in net.
