BRIGHTON, Mass. – Simmons soccer (2-6-1, 1-3-0 GNAC ) fell to Great Northeast Athletic Conference foe, University of St. Joseph's (Conn.) (2-4-1) in a breezy Saturday afternoon matchup at Daly Field.

Both the Bluejays and the Sharks started off the game with high intensity. However, the control of the game quickly shifted to St. Joe's. In the fifth minute, USJ's Zoe Zappone, scored the first goal of the day on a breakaway.

The Sharks huddled directly after the goal and tried to re-gather themselves. They held off the Blue Jay offense for most of the half until Maxine Muscatello, added two goals for the Bluejays, one in the 29th minute and another in the 43rd minute to take a 3-0 heading into the intermission.

Coming out at the start of the second half, Simmons came ready to make their comeback. They took more shots and put all their focus into getting one goal on the board and working from there. The Blue Jays had other plans. In the the 59th minute Zoe Walk scored the team's fourth goal.

Nevertheless, the Sharks kept their heads up and continued to fight for a goal. By putting more pressure on St. Joe's defense and goalkeeper Chandler Douglas, they got a top of the box goal in the 78th minute by senior captain Riley Wasiuk.
