Soccer Tabbed Eleventh in GNAC Pre-Season Coaches Poll

WINTHROP, Mass. – Heading into their first season under first year head coach Ann Marie Jaworski, Simmons soccer was picked 11th in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Pre-Season Coaches Poll, announced Tuesday.  

The Sharks received a total of 48 points in a vote amongst the 14 head coaches in the conference. Two-time defending champion Johnson & Wales is the pre-season favorite to finish atop the standings, receiving 194 points, including 12 first place votes. Lasell University was second with 176 points, while Saint Joseph's College of Maine falls third garnering 172 points, including two first place votes.

Welcoming three incoming first-years slated to join a veteran group of returners – including All-GNAC Third Team selection, Sydney Neumuth and junior goalkeeper Marita Nothacker, the Sharks look to make a statement in 2022. Simmons kicks off the season on the road Thursday, September 1 against Wellesley College at 4 p.m.
