KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Simmons soccer was one of the 746 soccer programs across the nation to receive the 2021-22 United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for exemplary performance in the classroom, announced Thursday.
The Sharks posted an outstanding 3.68 team GPA over the course of the 2021-22 academic year and have earned the honors for the 19th time. Simmons previously were recognized in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021.
Additionally, Simmons was one of four Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) schools to receive the accolades. Albertus Magnus College, Emmanuel College and Johnson & Wales University were the other three conference women's programs to earn the honors for the past academic year.
