WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons University's Lauren Brandau (Madison, Conn.) was named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women's Soccer All-Conference Second Team, while Izabella Warren (Hillsboro, N.H.) was a Third Team selection, it was announced today by the league. In addition, senior Amber Nobbs (Granville, Mass.) was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team.

Brandau earns All-Conference honors for the second time in her career after landing on the Third Team as a junior. The midfielder cemented her reputation throughout the conference as one of the toughest players on the pitch. A team Captain, Brandau started all 16 matches she appeared in, while notching an assist. Known for her grit and physicality, the graduate student was a mainstay in the middle of the field for the Sharks, winning 50/50 balls, while disrupting the opposition's offensive attack by imposing her will and applying pressure at every turn. A graduate of Daniel Hand High School, Brandau was a key to Simmons ability to extend its defensive prowess from the backfield to the midfield. 

Brandau extended her playing career to a fourth season for the Sharks as a graduate student and finished her tenure with 68 matches played, including 66 starts to rank among the school's all-time leaders in starting assignments. The Physical Therapy major has been named to the GNAC Academic All-Conference Team in all three years that she was eligible and tallied 10 points, including a pair of goals and six assists for Simmons. 

Warren earns a place on the Third Team after bursting onto the scene as one of the top rookies in the league. The midfielder ranked 10^th among conference leaders with eight goals and second among newcomers, while placing 17^th with 17 points, including an assist. The first year earned the respect of her coaches and teammates right away, being named a Captain in her initial season with the Sharks and was one of five players to start all 17 contests. She led Simmons in scoring and topped the team with a pair of game-winners, in addition to netting multiple markers on two occasions. Warren highlighted her first year with the game-winning tally to give the Sharks a 3-2 overtime victory over cross-street conference rival Emmanuel College (Mass.) on October 8. The offensive standout was named the GNAC Rookie of the Week for the week of October 7-13 and proved to be one of the most prolific novice goal scorers in recent years for Simmons. The Physical Therapy major owned the highest goal total for a first year at the school since Kristen Zielinski netted 10 goals for the Sharks during the 2005 campaign. The Hillsboro-Deering High School product got better as the season went on, catching fire during the second half of the year, notching at least one point in six matches during an eight-game stretch from October 2-26. 

Simmons closed out the season by going unbeaten in five of its last seven games to post a final record of 4-11-2, including a 4-7-1 league mark.
