WINTHROP, Mass. – For the second time this season, first-year Emilie Lapointe secured Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week honors announced by the league on Monday afternoon.

From the top of the Simmons lineup, Lapointe guided the Sharks to a 2-2 week, which included helping Simmons sweeping Albertus Magnus College on Sunday afternoon. Against the Falcons, Lapointe won all four of her matches - two singles and two doubles victories - in Sunday's matinee doubleheader to lead the Sharks to a 9-0 win and an 8-1 win.

Simmons returns to the court this weekend to close out GNAC play against Colby-Sawyer College on Saturday, October 7 at noon.
