Tennis Slips In Non-Conference Match against Mount Holyoke

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – Simmons tennis (3-6) fell to Mt. Holyoke College (2-1) in a non-conference match on Saturday afternoon. 

The Lyons came out strong with a sweep of doubles to take a 3-0 lead. Simmons third doubles tandem, sophomore Laura Lowe and first-year Emma Parsons made Mount Holyoke's Kennedy Bagley-Fortner and Kate Vavra work for the 8-5 victory.

Competing in her second singles match of the season, first-year Ainsley Foster performed well in sixth singles, despite dropping two sets to Bagley-Fortner. Foster managed to take a game from her sixth singles opponent before Bagley-Fortner took the match, 6-1, 6-0.

Additionally, senior Sara Fucillo also played solid against Mount Holyoke's Rachel Allen, while junior Emily Lopez grinded out second singles for the Sharks.
