NORTON, Mass. – Going on the road for a midweek non-conference match, Simmons tennis (2-3) fell to a tough Wheaton College (3-0) squad late Wednesday afternoon.

The Lyons came out of the game strong with a sweep of first doubles. But the Sharks did not make it easy. Second doubles tandem of Megan Baadsgaard and Laura Lowe took a game from Izzy Krusse and Laila Haraj-Sai. Senior Sara Fucillo and junior Emily Lopez battle Asia Leigh-Holis and Zoe West in third doubles, before falling 8-1.

Moving up to second singles for the first time this season, junior Emily Lopez put up a good fight against Wheaton's Mareike Mueller. Despite dropping the first set, 6-1, Lopez did not make Mueller's two-set win easy, battling to win two games.
