Tennis Receives ITA All-Academic Team Honors for 11th Straight Year; Four Earn Scholar Athlete Recognition

Full ITA All-Academic Team and Scholar-Athlete Release

BOSTON – For the 11th straight season, Simmons tennis earned Intercollegiate Tennis (ITA) All-Academic Team recognition as announced by the ITA on Wednesday morning.

Additionally, four members of the 2022-2023 squad received ITA Scholar-Athlete honors. Led by four-time recipients Leah Bonis '23 and Samantha Margolin '23, Libby Weed '23 and Avery Halloran '25 were also named to the team for a second time. 

To be eligible for the ITA All-Academic Team accolades a program must have a team GPA of 3.2 or higher on a 4.00 scale. Simmons and the University of St. Joseph (Conn.) were the only two GNAC institutions to receive the honors. 

For individuals to receive ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition, they must be a member of the team in good standing and have a GPA above 3.5 for the current academic year.
