Tennis Claims Third Seed in GNAC Post-Season; Hosts No. 6 USJ on Wednesday October 12

WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons tennis (7-5, 4-2 GNAC) claimed the third seed of the 2022 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) post-season tournament announced by the league Sunday afternoon.

The Sharks will host the sixth seed University of St. Joseph (Conn.) in the first round of the post-season on Wednesday, October 12 at Daly Field. In the teams' first meeting this year, the Sharks earned an 8-1 victory over the Blues with Simmons sweeping all six singles matches.

Wednesday afternoon's winner will move on to semifinals on Saturday October 15 against the second seed Regis College (7-2, 5-1 GNAC) in Weston, Massachusetts. Defending champion Colby-Sawyer earned the top seed with a perfect 6-0 conference and, along with the Pride, received a first-round bye.
