Tennis Claims Second Seed and First-Round Bye in GNAC Post-Season Tournament

WINTHROP, Mass. – Finishing the regular season with its best conference record since 2016, Simmons tennis (7-4, 5-1 GNAC) claimed the second seed and a first-round bye in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) post-season tournament announced by the conference on Monday.

The Sharks earned the first-round bye after a pivotal 5-4 road win against Regis last month on Sept. 25. It is the highest finish in the standings since 2016 when Simmons won the regular season title with a perfect 6-0 mark in conference play.

Simmons awaits the winner of Wednesday's GNAC quarterfinal match between third-seed Regis College and the sixth seed Albertus Magnus College and host the semifinals on Saturday, Oct. 16 at noon at Daly Field.
