Tennis Drops Final Regular Season Match to Clark

BRIGHTON, Mass. – Simmons tennis closed out the regular season falling to Clark University, 6-3, in a long match, Saturday afternoon.

The Cougars jumped out in front early, taking doubles, 2-1. Junior Leah Bonis and Samantha Margolin picked up the lone doubles victory, blanking Maeve McEnroe and Nardin Sayouki in third doubles, 8-0.

In the singles portion of the completion, Bonis picked up a three-set victory in second singles, holding off Leilani Brown (6-3, 1-6, 6-4). First-year Avery Halloran picked up the three-set win in sixth singles with a three-set comeback. After dropping the first set, 6-2, Halloran kocked off Sayoufi in the second and third set, 6-3 and 7-5, respectively.

UP NEXT
With a bye in the upcoming GNAC post-season tournament, Simmons returns to the courts next Saturday, Oct. 16 hosting the GNAC semifinals.
