Tennis Tabbed Second in GNAC Pre-Season Coaches Poll

WINTHROP, Mass. – Receiving a total of 40 points and one first place vote, Simmons tennis was selected to finish second in the 2021 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) pre-season poll following a vote of the seven head coaches.

The Sharks are coming off a 2019 season where they advanced to the conference semifinals with a GNAC mark of 4-3 and an overall record of 8-8. In the semifinals, Simmons fell to regular season champion Johnson & Wales, 5-0.

Regis College was picked to finish first accumulating 42 points, including three first place votes.

2018 champion, Colby-Sawyer came in third with 38 points and one first place vote, while the defending champion, Eastern Nazerene was selected fourth with two votes for first.

Simmons kicks off the 2021 campaign on Thursday, Sept. 2, hosting Roger Williams at 4 p.m.
