Tennis Earns ITA All-Academic Team Honors, Nine Named Scholar-Athlete

BOSTON – For the ninth consecutive year, the Simmons women's tennis program has earned 2020-21 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team honors and had nine ITA Scholar-Athletes, the ITA announced on Monday.

In order to secure ITA All-Academic Team accolades, a program must have a team grade-point average of 3.2 or above on a 4.0 scale. Simmons is the lone GNAC school to earn the team-honors, while its nine scholar-athletes beat out Regis' six.

This year's ITA Scholar-Athletes included Marissa Johnson, Carrie St. Peter, Lauren Koval, Sarah Mariski, Megan McKeever, Kaili Shorey, Leah Bonis, Laura Frampton, Samantha Margolin, Mary Miller, and Libby Weed. To be eligible for this distinction, student-athletes needed a grade-point average of at least 3.5 (on a scale of 4.00) for the 2020-21 academic year.
