Reinhard Named GNAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week Again

WINTHROP, Mass. ? Simmons College women?s tennis player Theresa Reinhard (Canton, Ohio) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women?s Tennis Player of the Week for the week of September 14-20, it was announced today by the league. The honor marks the second time this season and the third for her career that she has earned the award. She was also named the GNAC?s top player for the week of August 31 to September 6.

WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons College women's tennis player Theresa Reinhard (Canton, Ohio) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the week of September 14-20, it was announced today by the league. The honor marks the second time this season and the third for her career that she has earned the award. She was also named the GNAC's top player for the week of August 31 to September 6. 

Reinhard compiled a combined 4-1 record, including a perfect 2-0 mark in singles action. The junior dropped just one game in two singles matches last week, winning on the road at Anna Maria College, 6-0, 6-0, at number one singles on September 19. She was the victor in her singles match the following day vs. University of Saint Joseph (Conn.), 6-0, 6-1, at first singles. The Co-Captain registered a 2-1 mark in doubles play, falling, 8-5, with senior partner Meg Cokely (Haverhill, Mass.) vs. Wheaton College on September 16, but rebounded to win a pair of doubles matches over the weekend. The Simmons pair of Reinhard and Cokely defeated their Anna Maria counterpart, 8-0, at first doubles and triumphed over Saint Joseph's duo at number one doubles, 8-2. 

The Saint Thomas Aquinas High School product owns a combined record of 10-2 on the season, including 6-1 in doubles play. She has currently won four straight combined matches and has won all of her singles matches in straight sets. 

A Psychology and Business major, Reinhard has put together a combined career mark of 55-44 and is 30-19 in lifetime doubles contests. She currently ranks 11th in all-time combined wins for the Sharks, while placing eighth in career doubles victories. Her 25 singles wins tie her for ninth all-time at the school. 

Simmons is currently 3-4 on the season, including a perfect 2-0 in GNAC play. The Sharks have won 54 straight regular-season conference matches and will be in action again on Sunday, September 27 when they travel to take on intercity and league foe Suffolk University at 12:00 p.m.
