Sharks Claim 2013-2014 Women's GNAC Commissioner's Cup

BOSTON, Mass. ? Simmons College has ben awarded the 2013-2014 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women's Commissioner's Cup for the third consecutive year announced Wednesday by the Conference.

BOSTON, Mass. – Simmons College has ben awarded the 2013-2014 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women's Commissioner's Cup for the third consecutive year announced Wednesday by the Conference. 

The GNAC Commissioner's Cup is awarded annually to the member institutions with the highest number of points, in both men's and women's sports collectively, received from winning conference championships and conference tournament placement. Point allocations are as follows: five points for winning a championship, four for a championship game appearance, three for advancing to the semifinal round, two for competing in the quarterfinal round, and one for sponsoring a sport.


The Sharks earned a total of 26 points in the Cup standings behind GNAC Championships in Women's Tennis and Swimming & Diving, and a runner-up performance in Softball this spring. 

The Johnson & Wales claimed Men's Cup for the seventh consecutive campaign, registering a total of 24 points in the Cup standings with the support of a Men's Soccer title and GNAC Semifinal appearances by Baseball, Men's Basketball and Men's Tennis.
