Sharks Tennis Sweeps GNAC Weekly Honors

BOSTON, Mass. -- Simmons Tennis senior Margaret Teague (Manchester, N.H.) was named Great Northeast Athletic Conference Player of the Week announced Monday by the conference. 

BOSTON, Mass. -- Simmons Tennis swept the Great Northeast Athletic Conferece Weekly Honors fresh off their 6th consecutive GNAC Championship victory Sunday afternoon. Senior Margaret Teague (Manchester, N.H.) was named Player of the Week and first year Theresa Reinhard (Canton, Ohio) was named Rookie of the Week announced today by the conference.

WALTHAM, Mass. -- Simmons Tennis fell to the host Brandeis University Judges, 8-1 Friday afternoon as the Sharks continue their spring season in preparation for the NCAA tournament in May. First year Sofie Epshtein (Newton, Mass.) defeated Hanna Marion 7-6, 3-6, 10-6 in the No. 4 spot for the Sharks lone victory.

Teague had a 4-0 on the week for the Sharks, winning both her singles and doubles matches in the GNAC semifinal vs. Anna Maria College and then repeating the feat in the GNAC Championship against Johnson and Wales Univeristy on Sunday.

Reinhard won her singles and doubles matches in the GNAC seminfinals against Anna Maria College. The first year then won her singles match in the GNAC championship against Johnson and Wales University as the Sharks went on to win, 6-1.

Simmons has now won 58 straight GNAC conference games, with 10 straight finals appearances and six consecutive championship wins.
