Sharks Sweep GNAC Tennis Weekly Honors

BOSTON, Mass. -- Simmons Tennis swept the Great Northeast Athletic Conference weekly honors this week as the Sharks finish the regular season at a perfect 6-0. Sophomore Meghan Cokely (Haverhill, Mass.) was named Player of the Week while first year Sofie Epshtein (Newton, Mass.) was named Rookie of the Week.

Sophomore Meghan Cokely (Haverhill, Mass.) was named Player of the Week while first year Sofie Epshtein (Newton, Mass.) was named Rookie of the Week.

Cokely won her singles and doubles matches against the University of Saint Joseph in GNAC action on Monday. She then won singles and doubles matches versus Mount Holyoke College at the New England Women's Invitational Tennis Tournament (NEWITT) this past weekend.

Epshtein won her singles match against the USJ Bluejays as well as four matches at the NEWITT, including singles wins over players from NESCAC competitors  Tufts University and Wesleyan University.

The #1 seeded Sharks face the winner of #4 Anna Maria and #5 University of Saint Joseph on Saturday, Oct. 26th in the GNAC Semifinals at the Winchester Indoor Tennis Center at 1:00 PM.
