Teague Named GNAC Tennis Player of the Week

BOSTON, Mass. -- Simmons Tennis senior Margaret Teague (Manchester, N.H.) was named Great Northeast Athletic Conference Player of the Week announced Monday by the conference. 

BOSTON, Mass. -- Simmons Tennis swept the Great Northeast Athletic Conferece Weekly Honors fresh off their 6th consecutive GNAC Championship victory Sunday afternoon. Senior Margaret Teague (Manchester, N.H.) was named Player of the Week and first year Theresa Reinhard (Canton, Ohio) was named Rookie of the Week announced today by the conference.

WALTHAM, Mass. -- Simmons Tennis fell to the host Brandeis University Judges, 8-1 Friday afternoon as the Sharks continue their spring season in preparation for the NCAA tournament in May. First year Sofie Epshtein (Newton, Mass.) defeated Hanna Marion 7-6, 3-6, 10-6 in the No. 4 spot for the Sharks lone victory.

BOSTON, Mass. -- Simmons Tennis senior Margaret Teague (Manchester, N.H.) was named Great Northeast Athletic Conference Player of the Week announced Monday by the conference.

 

Teague went 4-0 this week at the #1 singles and doubles positions. At Suffolk, Teague defeated Aidiana Sagyndykova 6-3, 6-0 and teamed up with Meghan Cokely (Haverhill, Mass.) to defeat Sagyndykova and Adrianna Garrett 8-1 in doubles. Against Johnons & Wales, Teague came back after droping the first set to win 1-6, 6-1, 10-4 over Samantha Jo Borr. The doubles duo of Teague and Cokely were victorious again, defeating Jo Borr and Ansley Sego, 8-3.

 

Teague is now 7-2 in singles this season at the #1 spot and 8-1 at #1 doubles with Cokely. The Sharks head to the NEWITT tournament this weekend before beginning GNAC tournament play.
