Simmons Tennis Defeats Emmanuel to Remain Undefeated in GNAC

BOSTON, Mass. -- Simmons tennis defeated cross-town rival Emmanuel College 6-3 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference tennis action Friday afternoon to remain undefeated 6-0 in GNAC play.

After doubles play, the Sharks were up 2-1 as Margaret Teague (Manchester, N.H.) and Meghan Cokely (Haverhill, Mass.) teamed up and defeated Alex Hadlock and Amanda Woznicki 8-2 and Kristi Mielbye (Hanson, Mass.) and Caroline Khoury (Portsmouth, Ohio) defeated Jenny Konecnik and Katrina Gaddis 8-2.

In singles action, Teague defeated Hadlock 6-1, 1-6, 6-2 and Sabrina Salmela (Beverly, Mass.) defeated Woznicki 6-2, 6-0 at the number one and two positions, respectively. Cokely, Mielbye also picked up singles wins to solidify the victory for the Sharks.

Simmons returns to action on Saturday, when they host Anna Maria at 1:00 p.m.
